Our fees

We agree fees in writing before substantive work begins. This page sets out the basis on which we charge, the experience of the people who carry out the work, and the indicative price ranges that typically apply to the immigration matters we handle.

How we charge

  • Fixed fee — used where the scope of work can be defined at the outset, for example a single application on established facts.
  • Hourly rate — used where the extent of the work cannot reasonably be predicted, for example complex refusal or compliance matters.
  • Staged fees — larger matters can be broken into stages, each with its own agreed fee.

Indicative fee ranges

The figures below are indicative ranges based on the types of immigration work we regularly undertake. They are not quotations. The actual fee for your matter depends on the scope of work agreed in your engagement letter and is confirmed in writing before substantive work begins.

  • Initial advice appointment (where chargeable): typically £150 — £350
  • Straightforward applications on established facts (for example some spouse, partner, family extension or visitor visa applications): typically £900 — £1,800
  • Moderate-complexity applications (for example Skilled Worker applications, settlement or indefinite leave to remain matters requiring additional evidence review): typically £1,500 — £2,800
  • Complex matters (for example refusals, administrative review, tribunal appeals, sponsor-compliance work, or matters involving extensive evidence or correspondence): typically £2,500 — £3,500 or more

Overall, the average price range for the immigration matters we handle is between £900 and £3,500, depending on the complexity of the case, the evidence available and the history of the matter. You will not be charged more than the agreed fee without your prior written agreement to a revised scope.

Who carries out the work

Immigration matters at the firm are supervised by Andrew Williams, a solicitor and the principal of the firm. The work is carried out by qualified solicitors or, where appropriate, experienced caseworkers working under solicitor supervision. Every application, submission and piece of advice is reviewed and approved by a solicitor before it is sent.

How we quote for your matter

After we understand what you need, we give you a written quotation setting out the fee basis, what is included and what is not. Where the work cannot be defined at the outset, we explain how the fee will be calculated and provide an estimate or a range. The final fee is always subject to the scope of work agreed in writing.

Home Office fees and the immigration health surcharge

Home Office application fees, the immigration health surcharge, biometric enrolment and any priority service are set by the Home Office and are payable in addition to our professional fees. They change from time to time, so check the current figures on GOV.UK.

Disbursements

Third-party costs such as translation, courier and expert evidence are charged at cost and are identified before they are incurred wherever possible.

VAT

We do not charge VAT to persons with no UK or European status. Where VAT does apply, it is charged at the prevailing rate and confirmed in your engagement letter.
